Welcome to my Senior High School journey at STI West Negros University.

I don't know how it started but one day I woke up and noticed that there are things that actually brings calmness and joy to me whenever the day gets too boring.

Reading my favorite novel, watching vlogs, writing poems and poetry, listening to soft instrumental music, travelling, hiking, capturing photos of my circle, napping and reading blog, these are some of the comprehensive list of my likes, hobbies and interests that brings pleasure and merriment towards me.

TO BE TREASURED

STI West Negros University have a vibrant history the same as the other schools. STI WNU is the institution that thought me worthwhile things, the school that desires to mold me to be the better version of myself, to be future ready and the institution that I've got into unpredictable journey...

Entering university, while having seclusive lifestyle is a struggle. I had no idea back then how to commence a conversation, quick talks just isn't my cup of tea. Admittedly, I am not as expressive as I am today but my circle of friends and my school make a feasible way for me to step out of my comfort zones. After all, the small group and the institution I am in became the biggest part of my life.

Remember how we were naive to the school environment. The iconic stories we had on our first meeting. The strangers we've met, now ,our soulmates. The teachers who were truly agents of change whom we thought were strict and scary, now, the one we loved the most.

Hanging out with friends, arriving chronically late, cutting classes, sleeping during class hours, making a lot of noise, random group activities, wine making, research, unending deadlines, forthcoming exam, unchanging routines, setbacks, misfortunes, some misunderstanding that ended with forgiveness, the moments we've endure on how to stand up and conquer odd. This are only few of our incredible and horrible experiences that our four corners of the room have witness.

Welcome to the approaching end of S.Y. 2019-2020. Aim High, STI!

2018

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas let your heart be light.

A school can be a place of fun that is why we celebrate fun Christmas party. We had list of fun activities (including tag of war, eating banana, paper dance, macho gay, flour war,and last but not the list, the best retro outfit) and little games (water war is my favorite part) that entertain us the whole Christmas party celebration.

Furthermore, there was a table plenty of delicious food and appetizers. Throughout the celebration we had a warm and festive environment and mood. We had fun and memorable Christmas party back then.

PARADE OF LIGHTS

I love to watch the city lights from afar at night it brings a gleeful vibe to me, glad to know that STI West Negros University have a wonderful event namely The Parade of lights. My two years of experience is doubtless unforgettable. STI WNU did light up my night during that  distinguished occasion.

ROUTINES

"Ngayo ko papel."

"May ballpen ka?"

"Pano ni e solve?"

"Buwas na ang deadline?"

"13/50 lang ko."
"9 lang ko gani hahaha."

"Ano ang assignment?'"
"Ha? May assignment ta gali?"

"Lobby ta, wify."
"Tulog ta sa library."

"Ano nga roooooom?"

The inevitable "SANA ALL!"

These are some of the usual scenarios and conversation we had on our school premises. Everyday I look forward hearing those words from my classmates. Two long years had gone along the way, we've encounter pitfalls specially from the existing difficulty of our chosen course, yet, it is a pretty good reason for us to stand up once more and achieve new milestone. Above all, my fervent wish is to have more treasured split seconds with my friends and classmates.

SOAR HIGH! SENIOR HIGH!

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

For every person who loves libraries they have their own anecdote to tell.

The perfect word to describe a library is "paradise". I frequently went on the library especially in my vacant time, occasionally,  spending time doing nothing, scanning my notes, advance studying our lectures, answering school didactic, caught myself drowsing, most of the time, sharing authentic and out of the world conversation with my circle.

Let me tell you my inside story, my awful experience in our University Library. Once upon a time, my friend crack a joke the funny punch line amuse my friend who owns a contagious laugh. Later on, her chuckles turns into enormous belly laugh. The audible laugh and noise of my friends caught the attention of the School Librarian. It was absolutely embarrassing when the librarian scold us. What's even worst is when I am caught having frequent nap. During that terrible day we gain mortifying experience, gladly, we don't receive any violations.

KASADYAHAN SEASON FIVE AND SIX

Sugar, spice and everything nice. STI West Negros University open its Kasadyahan Season Five on October 26,2018.

Cheerdance, chants, music, sports, performance and artistry my first year adventure in STI WNU is undeniably indelibleI look forward to my anticipations in arts, theater plays and films in that day. The sequence of events were systematic, the main reason why I love to watch the performances, I guess. I like how they were able to encourage individual to express themselves with the skills they possess. In that one day activity I gleefully comprehend scads of virtuous fond memories.

STI West Negros University celebrates its annual occasion the "Kasadyahan Festival". Kasadyahan Season Six Final Battle in Cheerdance Competition was held in the University Gymnasium on the 10th day of February 2020.

The Orange Erudites, Blue Guardians, Red Sentinels, Yellow Tycoons, Pink Vikings, Green Titans and Purple Wizard did intensive preparations, showcased the spirit of camaraderie and foster great determination aiming for the Championship Title.

Students scrolled down to the University Gym and spend 3 hours watching the dances from different colors. I could barely remember the cheers of the students to show their never ending love and support for their certain team. I could see the giggles, chortling, amusement of every individual when the participants started to present their talents and skills. My eyes filled with much wonders during that prestigious occurrence. Indeed, the program is convivial. Upon hearing the announcement that the Orange Erudites won my heart flips with so much joy. The winners celebrates their victory and the students were ought to go home. After the gathering in the gymnasium me and my companion went home safe and sound. This may sound cliche but the events especially the cheers keep replaying on my mind .

P.S. being an erudite is something I am really proud of.

5C's

First

There are 5C's embedded in our school. Of these, I've chosen to focus on Communicator.

I remember how I stammered and how I was able to hide my nervousness while I am urge to introduce myself on our first day in class. Before I was too timid to ask. I don't talk that much and engage myself from anything or anyone. Yet, I have to embrace the truth, to deal with reality. Our educators taught me ways to become a good communicator by communicating effectively.

For someone like me who is naturally born unsociable, a great privilege has been offered to me I am both grateful and blessed to be in an institution with active listeners where I can communicate, ask questions and advice not only to my friends, classmates, schoolmates but also to the faculty staffs. I am fortunate to have a teachers who carries motherly care, who listen carefully and understand my points of view. The teachings of our educator cultivates us to became a good communicator. Now, I live out those values.

Second

There are 5C's embedded in our school. Of these, I've chosen to focus on Characters.

Characters are losing relevance this days. Intelligence, award, and achievements are admirable, however, do you have virtues that promote good deeds? At this present time it is rare to find people who are in their rectitude.

One of my hated attributes is my laziness. I am lazy to do this and that. I am not triggered unless the deadlines draw closer. I habitually settle on my unnecessary and bad options. For all I know it was fun. Over the course of time, I came to realize it isn't a good disposition I should carry on with.

There are days I get extremely drained. I can't cope up with school works. I am tempted to give up not just once but numerous time. Nevertheless, I perceive that I am equipped to face the world I must always see ray of hopes. I never let failure of any nature stop me. My educators instill faith, fortitude, and perseverance which is convenient for the strong foundation of my future.

Self realizations and development of my characteristic were taught by my teachers. In the nick of time, the nobility of heart, mind, and deeds initiate in me, I notice myself being resilient, bouyant and eager for my betterment. One of the astonishing experience and motto I am living out is  "work one's way up."

Third

There are 5C's embedded in our school. Of these, I've chosen to focus on Christ centered.

STI West Negros University mission isn't only for the vision of excellence of our institution over and above that is to have Christ centered education. Nowadays, many of us, especially youths of this generation leave a little room for Christ.

Bible studies, Eucharistic celebrations, Thanksgiving mass, Prayers.

"A part of student growth must be his or her faith." this saying I heard long time ago is definitely life changing. Students are certainly allow to go on Bible study when their time is vacant, our schools have a lot of Bible study program. Eucharistic celebrations and Thanksgiving mass, it was scheduled monthly and held in SAC, students are expected to attend the mass and I do attend as well. Prayers, most of the students of STI WNU are spiritually matured. We began and end the day with prayer, we are also used to read the scriptures and our Bible at home.

Over the past couple of years, my connection in God is getting deeper and deeper and my faith in God is getting stronger and stronger.

"That in all things, God may be Glorified."

Fourth

There are 5c's embedded in our school. Of these, I've chosen to focus on Critical Thinker.

STI West Negros University have some of the best leaders who think rationally most of the time especially when situation lapses. Leaders of our institution have a core trait of being successful because of their alertness, attentiveness, and logical thoughts.

For every action there is an positive and negative reaction.

My broader view, the facts and knowledge I gain taught me to stay objective in such situations. Before I made up my decisions I think rationally, I think of it not just once, nor twice, I think of it a hundred and more knowing I am responsible to the outcomes and consequences.

My finest experience is in situation I found myself really in need to solve, analyze, interpret challenging problems I was able to answer it by thinking critically.

Lastly,

There are 5c's embedded in our school. Of these, I've chosen to focus on Change adept.

Change is progress and inevitable, STI West Negros University encourages individual to strive their best in order to achieve great goals. This is the secret why our institution produce many achievers and professionals, I hope that I can be one of them, perhaps, not now, but eventually.
